You shouldn’t need a drawing toolbar while recording. You shouldn't need to open it to drag it around, but you may need to drag using the border instead of the button in the center. I'll answer a few comments here that may ease things in the mean time.Īlso can't just drag it out of the way unless i open the tool bar Thanks for this feedback, I've passed along to the team the need for this. We'll see if they listen to the feedback. I gave the suggestion that they also (please) make the giant recording controls to be much smaller AND located outside of the screen recording area, making any video playback and recording controls to be located BELOW the bottom of the video recording area preferably in the middle or not blocking the video play function button, so that you can quickly access the recording controls outside of the screen recording area at the bottom of the screen, as when you go to stop the screen recording, your mouse movements among other things (like a thumbnail scrubbing area in video playback) won't display before you can stop the Safari capture recording. It’s weird to have it there in the first place. I submitted the suggestion to Anthony C (at Snagit Mac support) to pass it onto their developers to add an additional checkbox to disable the Drawing toolbar. Normally, when you see that option in settings as a user, you’d think that UNCHECKING this box would DISABLE any undesired controls (such as the “Drawing” toolbar) while recording in Safari browser, but there you have it. There, in the capture settings menu, you’ll need to check and ENABLE the checkbox for “Show Quick Controls In Fullscreen Recordings.”. I called support and got the answer: basically, you’ll have to go into Snagit "Capture" settings (i.e., select Snagit up at the top left corner of the app window, then select ‘Settings’, then select the ‘Capture’ settings tab (the one with the red button). He’s right, there’s really no point to using Snagit video screen recording if you can’t disable visible toolbars.Ĭan you please advise when a fix will be updated? Thanks. I'd tried searching, but I don't see anything in the video capture settings of this app to remove it, is there a way to disable it by default in Snagit's settings? - If not, why doesn't Snagit allow users to permanently disable this toolbar when recording video on Safari?Ĭan someone in support at Snagit please advise on how to disable it permanently? I saw that someone else posted about it, but there’s been no update thus far for a fix. In prior versions of Snagit, I'd successfully disabled other undesired Snagit display toolbars, and previews settings in the app while video recording, but fear that I'm now stuck with looking at this annoyingly obvious Snagit "Drawing" toolbar that remains fixed on the screen while recording, which also transfers to display within the final Safari captured video recording. I've been using Snagit for a good amount of time prior to this year, so I don't need to view display toolbars, however (with the newest Snagit 2023 version) was pretty disappointed to see that (both) DURING and AFTER recording a video for work on Safari, the Snagit "Drawing" toolbar displays and remains visible at the lower-left hand side of the screen and cannot be disabled or permanently hidden within the Snagit 2023 video recording settings (please see the attached screenshot of the video). I've just installed Snagit 2023 and am on a MacBook which is running the latest OS version update of Ventura.
